Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is a digital marketing strategy that focuses on increasing the traffic to your website through organic search engine results, primarily in Google. The key difference between SEO and paid advertising is that SEO involves organic ranking, so you don't pay to be in that space. Search engine optimization means taking a piece of online content and optimizing it so search engines like Google show it towards the top of the page when someone searches for something (for example, "child dentist near me").

Off-Page SEO refers to any SEO efforts outside your website to improve your search engine ranking. These include brand or product mentions, links from third-party websites. The most common tactic used to support Off-Page SEO is acquiring backlinks. So, the more backlinks or "votes" you get from trustworthy, related websites with active traffic, the more favourable your pages will be in Google's eyes and will impact how well you rank.
